Open Back Tackhead Banjos

This open back line of instruments originated from a practice in the construction of grain measure banjos. Over time I have developed a modern made one and two ply rim, avoiding the current high pricing and low availability of antique grain measures. These instruments can range from a 9" rim to a 14" rim, in maple, cherry, oak and ash. tonally these banjos are very warm and extremely responsive.
